Golf Club Bormio - Golf course information & golf holiday offers
The 9 hole golf club of La Fornace (The Kiln) recently celebrated its 25th birthday (the club was inaugurated in 1991). It lies only 3 minutes walk from the village centre and at a stone’s throw from Stelvio National Park: a natural uncontaminated setting at 1.250 m of height, with stunning views over the surrounding majestic mountain peaks. In a cool and dry climate, the design of the course is the work of Swiss architect Mario Verdieri, who pursued maximum respect of the original conformation of the ground: large terraced meadows and pasturelands, gently sloping to the valley, supported by small dry stone walls. Watch out for the cliffs/scarps (to retrieve your ball would be nearly impossible!) and for the wind, which can make your game very tricky. In short, this is a golf course that fully reflects the golfer’s needs: an ever-changing strategy, a fair effort, an excellent challenge for good and less skilled players. After the game, it’s worth visiting the clubhouse restaurant, which offers traditional dishes of the area, but also tasty seafood.

Pro’s comment
An engaging 9 hole course to play in the summer, Golf Club Bormio won’t disappoint who’s “tasting” it for the first time. The course has been designed following the natural slopes of the ground and respecting the needs of both, skilled and beginner golfers. There’s no need to be a big hitter: the longest fairway is less than 350 m long and there are no Par 5s, but if you aren’t extremely accurate, you will not get the greatest satisfaction. Usually here, maintenance work is superb, therefore the pleasure of the game is guaranteed.
