It is a course where even high handicap players can enjoy themselves and where you don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for the ball because it is always in sight (unless it ends up in one of the many water hazards!).

The 18 classic championship holes are those of the Benaco – with a memorable 5th hole, a 180-meter par 3 almost entirely occupied by the lake – combined with those of the Solferino; the 9 holes of both courses are spectacular, sharing the same lake and the same immense putting green overlooked by the windows of the clubhouse. The San Martino course, a fairly long par 35 with many water hazards. Try your short game and the Pozzolengo course, with its 9 executive holes that are varied and entertaining.

“San Vigilio Golf can be best defined as “universal”: challenging for pros and amateurs with low handicaps, fun for medium-high handicaps; congratulations to the designer who intuited his client's needs, that is, for building a splendid “tourist” course. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's easy; it is rather long, with large greens and cross bunkers that are difficult to get over. Fun guaranteed for all. Try it.”

Offering the red course at all is an absolute impertinence

I was there last week and played the red course. A complete disaster - the course is in a pitiful state. Apparently it was left to dry out in the summer or completely sprayed away and then reseeded. You can still clearly see the rows of seed, it has been mowed over a maximum of 3 - 4 times. The course appears to be completely overplayed and allowing karts back in immediately after rainfall only shows that the aim here is to make money. I am very disappointed. And to charge a green fee for this is really outrageous. The €60 green fee for 9 holes is better thrown into Lake Garda, where you can at least see them swimming away. No more Chervo Golf Club!
