Golf Club Saturnia - Golf course information & golf holiday offers
Golf and spas are a winning combination. They know it perfectly well here at Saturnia in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma where, in addition to the renowned massages and spa treatments offered by the resort, you can play golf at 300 meters above sea level, surrounded by the beauty of the panorama with Mount Amiata as background. This is a destination to enjoy year – round but even more so in autumn and spring when at the end of a match, a soak in the warm spa waters almost miraculously relieves physical and sports fatigue. Created from the drafting pencil of Californian architect Ronald Fream of the Studio Golf Plan in 2007, the championship course extends over 70 undulating hectares where maximum attention was paid to nature as well as water and energy conservation. Each hole has its own identity and special character. You can never afford to lose your concentration amidst the ponds, brooks and large bunkers carved out of the fairways and undulating ample greens – but it could happen, especially if you find a roe-deer, porcupine, pheasant or hare as a playmate, not an unlikely event on this course in the countryside.

Pro’s comments:
This course demands your full attention—there’s no room for distraction! From the white tees, it becomes a long and challenging test, perfect for skilled players. But from the yellow and advanced tees, it offers just the right mix of challenge and enjoyment, with fun guaranteed at every turn! Here are some key tips to help you navigate the course:
- Hole 17: The green has a sharp slope from right to left. Aim to leave yourself an uphill putt to avoid trouble!
- Hole 2: This par 5 features a tricky double dogleg. Playing it safe is key—taking risks here won’t pay off. Stick to a solid tee shot down the right side, then lay up to set yourself up perfectly for your approach to the green.
- Hole 11: A stunning par 3 with a water hazard in front and large white boulders adorning the knoll in the background. It’s as challenging as it is beautiful—soak in the view!
- Hole 15: A memorable par 4 with panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the valley of the Terme di Saturnia (Saturnia’s hot springs). The water hazard runs the length of the hole on the right, and the split-level green adds complexity. Keep in mind, the entire hole slopes toward the lake—stay sharp!
This course offers a fantastic experience—enjoy every moment and play your best!
