Many keen golfers will recall memories of “old” Palmares, one of the first golf courses built in the Algarve by Frank Pennink in the 1970s. But come and dive into experiencing the new Palmares Golf and you’ll be surprised by its transformation. While the old course had stunning ocean views only from the first and seventeenth tees, the new Palmares Golf Course offers stunning ocean views from 90% of the tees! The course was completely redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr., one of America’s leading golf course architects, and all holes from the old course remain unchanged.

The course now combines parkland with an actual golf course – which is unique to the Algarve. The higher parts of the course offer unforgettable views of the sea and the Alvor estuary. A low hole near the beach combines sand dunes, tall grass and the sound of the ocean.

There are few other golf courses in the Algarve that give you the opportunity to get so close to the sea with a golf club! Palmares Golf was ranked the 26th golf course in continental Europe and has been voted the best golf course in Portugal for the seventh consecutive year.
