Slovenia’s beauty is reflected in its 13 golf courses, which host more than 8,000 Slovenian golfers. Nestled in the centre of Europe, the golfer will find typical landscapes on the edge of the Pannonian plain, among vineyards and rolling hills, alpine peaks and in the bucolic karst landscape. Due to the short distances within the country, most clubs can be reached in a short time. Its population is active and sporty and Slovenia is green, making its 9 or 18-hole golf courses increasingly popular as a golf destination, attracting golfers from all over the world. In the last 10 years more than 8 official EGA European amateur championships, team and individual, have been held on Slovenian golf courses, which shows the interest of golfers in finding high quality courses to play here. In 2015 it was the winner of the “Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year 2015” award of the International Association of Golf Travel Writers, which has 160 members and is administered by IAGTO.
