Al-Imārāt al-‘Arabīya al-Muttaḥida or what is better United Arab Emirates (UAE) composed of 7 emirates; Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sarja and Umm al-Qaywayn were constituted by the 6 sheikhs in 1971 after freeing themselves from British rule forming the capital in Abu Dhabi and the most famous and populous city being Dubai.
