Umbria is located in central Italy. It includes Lake Trasimeno and the Marmore waterfalls and it’s crossed by the Tiber River. The regional capital is Perugia. Umbria is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, culinary delights, artistic heritage and influence on culture. The region is characterised by hills, mountains, valleys and historic towns such as the university centre of Perugia, Assisi, a World Heritage Site linked to Saint Francis of Assisi, Terni, Norcia, Città di Castello, Gubbio, Spoleto, Orvieto, Todi, Castiglione del Lago, Narni, Amelia and other small towns. Umbria has also long been a secret among art lovers. Perugia, Urbino and Assisi are the main sights of the region. This region is also known as a golf destination. This is mainly due to the undulating terrain, which encourages golf course designers to create masterpieces. The most renowned golf course for a golf holiday in Umbria is the Lamborghini Golf Club, on Lake Trasimeno. Noble and exclusive, especially in terms of gastronomy: eight different varieties of white and black truffles grow here. The Perugia Golf Club is also worthy of mention. It is only 6 km away from the main town, Perugia, and within short distance from most of Umbria’s sights. The hotels in the region offer all modern amenities and are also good starting points for golfing and other leisure activities.
