However, the warm and homelike atmosphere of the Umbrian club has remained the same, only a quarter of an hour from the center of Perugia. The club hosted the wonderful edition of the Ladies Italian Open won by the Englishwoman Florentyna Parker in 2014 . Opened in 1959, the course has sections which are typical of the style of the era. To play well here, it isn’t so important to hit the ball far, but to know how to keep it straight on the undulating holes, edged by oaks and pines, and center the small greens with precision. After-golf activities offer many options, beginning with a visit to the historic center of Perugia perched on the Colle del Sole at 500 meters of altitude, one of Italy’s most beautiful art cities with its Etruscan and Roman walls and the medieval Palazzo dei Priori building.
