Paradise on Mauritius is not only the contrasting interplay between white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, lush vegetation and volcanic mountain massifs. The island is surrounded by a coral reef, which offers a perfect spot for snorkellers and divers and at the same time protects the fine sandy beaches from the surf. Also worth seeing are the picturesque towns like Mahébourg or Port Louis with their markets, harbours, museums and cafés, or the famous botanical gardens of Pamplemousses. Mauritius lies south of the equator and the two seasons, summer and winter, are opposite to the European ones. The climate is relatively mild and bearable even during the hot summer months. Seaside holidays are possible all year round, but May to June and September to November are considered the most pleasant months to travel. For divers, December to April is recommended, for surfers June to August. In recent years, Mauritius has developed into an excellent and fabulous golf destination and is no longer unknown, especially among golfers. Currently, Mauritius has 14 excellent golf courses and a large number of noble golf hotels. Mauritius thus offers the best golfing opportunities for beginners and advanced golfers. The most popular golf courses in Mauritius include the Anahita Golf Course, the Paradis Golf Course, the Constance Golf Courses The Legend and The Links, Le Touessrock and the palm-fringed golf course of Le Saint Géran.
